What Happens in a Mish Fitting?

(And no — we don’t ask you to get naked.)

If you’ve been thinking about coming for a bra fitting at Mish but feeling a little nervous — you’re not alone. One of the most common things we hear is:

“I’m worried I’ll have to take everything off in front of someone!”

Let’s clear that one up straight away: we never ask you to be topless.
You’ll always stay in your bra — we fit you in a bra, not out of one.

Also all of Mish's fitters are fully trained and Mish they spend around six months training, working through all the specialties, unlike some well known high street chains (cough M&S cough) where you would be lucky if they have had 6 hours training, or some other places where they boast they are fully trained as they completed an online course!!).

Now that we’ve got that out the way — here’s exactly what does happen in a Mish fitting.

1️⃣ You arrive and we have a quick chat

When you arrive at Mish, you’ll be greeted by one of our expert bra fitters 

We’ll have a quick chat about:

• What you’re looking for (everyday, strapless, sports, mastectomy, special occasion etc)

• Any problems you’ve been having with fit or comfort

• What you do and don’t like when it comes to bras

Then we’ll take you through to one of our fitting rooms to get started.

2️⃣ You stay in your current bra

In the fitting room, we’ll ask you to slip off your top — but to keep your bra on.

We’ll take a look at how your current bra is fitting.
We fit by eye — we don’t use a tape measure because it’s not accurate if your bra is currently the wrong size (which, let’s be honest, it often is!).

Instead, our trained eyes assess:

• Your chest wall shape

• Your breast and back shape and size

• How your current bra is supporting you (or not!)

• What styles are likely to work for you

• What you’ve told us about your comfort and style preferences

3️⃣ We select bras to try

Based on everything we’ve learned, we’ll go and select a range of bras that we believe will suit your shape and needs.

This is where the magic of a Mish fitting really happens — we’re not just trying to match a number to a product. We’re taking everything about you into account and bringing you options that will truly fit and feel good.

Think of it more like being in a sweet shop than buying jeans — this should be fun, not stressful!

4️⃣ We fit and adjust

You’ll try on the first bra and we’ll see how it fits.

We’ll help you with:

• Adjusting the straps properly

• Teach you how to scoop and position your boobs into the cups (to make sure you’re wearing the bra correctly)

• Making sure the band is sitting correctly and the wires are in the right place

If we need to tweak size or style, we’ll bring in other options and keep refining the fit until it’s just right.

5️⃣ You choose what you love

Once we’ve found bras that fit beautifully, it’s over to you to decide what you love.

You’ll never be pressured to buy — this is about you feeling confident and comfortable. We want you to leave the shop knowing you’ve got bras that will truly work for you.
