Mounjaro, Wegovy and bra fittings, what's the relevance?

Losing Weight Fast? Do you need a bra fitting or can it wait?

Here's everything you need to know!

There’s been a big shift recently. At Mish, we’re seeing more and more women coming in for bra fittings after starting weight loss injections like Wegovy, Mounjaro and Ozempic,. And while people have always come to us when their body changes – whether through lifestyle, surgery or natural shifts – this new trend is different.

This weight loss is faster, and typically we are seeing women losing a lot more weight, not just one or two stone.

If you’re losing weight rapidly, especially from your upper body, chances are your current bras will stop fitting long before you reach your target. But that doesn’t mean you need to buy a whole new lingerie drawer every time the scales shift. The secret?
👉 Regular fittings.
👉 The right styles.
👉 Clever hacks to make your bras go further.

Let’s break it down…

Why Fast Weight Loss = Frequent Fittings

Your bra size doesn’t change evenly. You may lose inches around your back before your cup size drops, or your breast tissue may change shape altogether. Most of our customers start feeling uncomfortable weeks before they look dramatically different.

Badly fitting bras don’t just look wrong – they feel wrong.
You might notice:

  • Your wires lifting away from your chest, or digging in your sides
  • Cups gaping or flattening
  • Straps falling off constantly your shoulders
  • The bra band riding up your back

How often should you get a fit check?
If you're losing weight quickly, we recommend  every 6–8 weeks – especially if you're already feeling unsupported. A fit check doesn't mean you will need a new bra, but it might be time to use the inner hooks and adjust the shoulder straps.

Smart Bra Hacks During Weight Loss

You don’t need to buy five new bras every time your size changes. At Mish, we’ve learned a few tricks over the years:

Model wearing Elomi Morgan Underwired Bra and High Leg Brief Set in Dark Romance leaning against red chair with red curtain backdrop

🪡 Choose bras with stretch lace

Bras like the Elomi Morgan are our go-to for fluctuating sizes. The forgiving stretch lace across the top of the cup gives room for change without making the bra look too loose or baggy. It adapts with your shape and gives a lovely rounded fit even as your breasts soften or reduce.

🔁 Use a Rixie Clip – (temporarily)

If your cup size hasn’t changed but the band feels loose, a Rixie clip can help you get a few more weeks out of your current bra before investing in a new one. But this is only a short-term fix – long term, you'll need proper support.

Evelyn & Bobbie The Evelyn Bra in Black

👚 Multi-size bras are your secret weapon

We love the Evelyn & Bobbie range – particularly the Beyond Bra and Evelyn Bra. These seamless, wire-free bras adapt to your body, flexing across up to six cup and band sizes. So while they’re £68 upfront, they often last the full length of a weight loss journey – far cheaper than buying three or four traditional bras along the way. Another good option can be the Everyday Sculpt Bra by Bravado, this again covers several sizes in one bra, so is a great option to see you through your weight loss journey.

Don't Forget Your Sports Bra

If your weight loss journey includes fitness – whether that’s walking more, joining a gym, or lifting weights – your sports bra is just as important. A poorly fitting one can cause pain, lack of support, and droopy shape!

Our top sports bra picks during weight loss:

  • Freya Dynamic – Great for flexibility and comfort

  • Freya High Octane – For maximum hold, especially for high-impact workouts

  • Elomi Energise – Ideal for fuller busts, with unbeatable support in band sizes up to 44 and cups up to JJ
